I am writing this email to invite you to contribute to the 2005 IEEE
International Conference on Web Services (ICWS 2005) and 2005 IEEE
International Conference on Services Computing (SCC 2005), which will be
held on July 12-15, 2005, Orlando, Florida, USA. The theme of this joint
IEEE conference on SERVICES is "Bridge the Gap between Business Services
and IT Services". In our view, Web Services is an IT technology that
can be used to realize business solutions. So ICWS 2005 will put its
focus on all aspects of IT Infrastructure Services. SCC 2005
concentrates on Business Services and the bridging technologies such as
Business Process Integration and Management, Grid Computing, and
SOA. Both ICWS 2005 and SCC 2005 are sponsored by IEEE Computer Society
Technical Committee on Services Computing.
During ICWS 2005 and SCC 2005, you will be able to meet with lots of
well-known professors, industry experts, industry executives, chief
architects, industry standards leaders, IEEE journal/magazines'
editor-in-chiefs, business services consultants, and graduate
students. A job fair is being organized to help graduate students be
connected with hiring companies leveraging this special event.
The 2005 IEEE International Conference on Web Services (ICWS 2005) is
the THIRD year of ICWS focusing on Web Services. ICWS is a forum for
researchers and industry practitioners to exchange information regarding
advancements in the state of the art and practice of Web Services, as
well as to identify the emerging research topics and define the future
of Web Services computing. Some of the topics of interest include Web
Services specifications and enhancements, Web Services discovery, Web
Services security, Web Services based applications, Web Services
standards and technologies, Web Services applications and solutions, Web
Services realizations, semantic Web Services, and other emerging
technologies or solutions.
The 2005 IEEE International Conference on Services Computing (SCC 2005),
which is the SECOND year of SCC, aims to the topics of bridging the gap
between Business Services and IT Services with a new ground breaking
technology suite that includes service-oriented architecture (SOA),
business process integration and performance management, utility/grid
computing and autonomic computing. SCC 2005 has the following major
research tracks: Foundations of Services Computing, Service-Oriented
Architecture (SOA), Grid/Utility Computing, and Business Performance
Management Services and Business Integration.
All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings in
hardcopy and on-line version by the IEEE Computer Society. The enhanced
version of the selected best papers published in the ICWS 2005 and SCC
2005 will be invited to publication in the International Journal of Web
Services Research (JWSR), the International Journal of Business Process
Integration and Management (IJBPIM) and possibly other related
journals. One Best Paper award and 1-3 Best Student Paper Awards will be
presented by ICWS 2005 and SCC 2005 respectively. In particular, the
ICWS 2004 Proceedings, SCC 2004 Proceedings and JWSR have been selected
to be included in EI Compendex. Abstract and paper submission is due on
January 31, 2005. Some speakers of the keynotes, panels, and tutorials
will be invited to submit articles to extend their presentations for
potential publication in IEEE IT Professional Magazine.
